Shaykh Abdalla Idris Ali
He is a pioneering North American Muslim community leader, Imam, fundraiser and public speaker who has served the Muslim community through tremendous contributions in promoting education, Islamic knowledge and community cohesion. He holds a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Toronto. His expertise in the Islamic sciences which he studied with scholars in his native Sudan, are in Tafsīr, Sharīʿah, and counselling.
As a community leader, he founded the first full-time Islamic school in North America (ISNA Islamic Community School), where he served as principal for seventeen years and was integral in implementing Islamic and Arabic studies syllabuses for elementary and junior high students. Shaykh Abdalla has also served as the Director of Religious Affairs at Jami Mosque, dubbed "the mother of all the mosques in Toronto" . For More (Click Here).
